The orchard and vineyard are both fairly new. The orchard is 3 years old and just began to produce some fruit this year. We lost a few of our trees this last summer to fire blight. One day they were healthy and producing fruit, and about three days later they were gone. It can be so disheartening, but we will keep trying.
The vineyard is only 2 years old but produced enough grapes to put in our share baskets this year. We are hoping this next year to have enough grapes for shares as well as enough extra to dry for raisins for the fall/winter season.
